Q45 Manual Transmission

Ive read several places that the Q45, at least the earlier models, shared the transmission with the 300zx. Now if this is true, why couldnt you swap out your auto tranny for the 300zx's manual tranny? Dont know if this is a commonly asked question or not, I couldnt find anything on the internet using google.

The G50, FY33, and F50 Q45 have always used automatics.

Never was a manual in a Q45.
