2001 740iL metallic rattle on engine start
More noticable on cold starts. Noticable metallic rattle on engine start. Seems like body component(s) loose. Anyone expwerienced and resolved this? Dealer does'nt think a big deal, but it sounds like a Ford with 100K miles! 2001 with 32K miles, pristine vehicle.
Thanks for any help or advice. |

Re: 2001 740iL metallic rattle on engine start
The catalytic converters rattle when they have failed. Check this first. If they are OK another failure I have read of is the exhaust mainfold has an inner part that can break loose and rattle. Only fix is a new manifold, so it may be one of those "live with it" things.
