Hydrhualic timing advance

recently I replaced my head, while it was off I replaced the stock springs with heavy duty springs. When I replaced the head the hydrohaulic timing advance began making a very loud clacking noise. No one has a clue they say nothing is rubbing and sometimes they do this, what is it, and is that true.
