Re: Toyota Coro..., excuse me, Trueno!

Thats a corolla alright. Only RWD corollas deserve to be called a trueno. J/K, but other than that nasty out of place scoop, its very good.

Nicely done! Too bad the kit doesn't come with a complete engine... I bet someone can guess what I would do with those

Re: Toyota Coro..., excuse me, Trueno!

Looks good =]
Only thing I can suggest to improve it are perhaps to change the rims.

Regards,
Ryan

Looks good man. Just one thing I'm not really feeling, the rims. Its your car though. Do what you like with it.

Thumbs up

I like it! I'd go for different rims but I like it overall!! That hoodscoop was straight from the factory.

Great job! I think the hood scoop adds character! Is it Fujimi?

Thanks for yor comments!

For the hood scoop all you corolla guys (including Myself) have to know that the Japanese version (trueno) is supercharged and twin cam, and the US version is only twin cam. The hood scoop came with the kit and in the real car I think is functional.

The kit is a Tamiya snap together kit. Very easy to build but has a good chasis engraving.

And for the wheels, here in PR, long before the tuner craze our people are tuning japanese cars, specially Toyotas and RX-7. The wheels represent what a young guy whould install not for racing but for looks.

But I always welcome some advice so what wheels would you install?

Re: Re: Toyota Coro..., excuse me, Trueno!

During the early or late (forget which) 80's toyota seemed to supercharg things. Like the MK1 MR2 SUPERCHARGER, which was sold in the UK. Dunno if it ever hit the states or japan (?) BTW, i actually like those rims.

AE92s came with 4A-GZE which is more or less a supercharged 4ag. This motor also came in our AW11s (first gen MR2s). They are popular swaps for AE86s. The hood scoop feeds the top mount intercooler, much like Scooby WRXs. No Corollas ever came factory turbo charged.
