Unhappy Hostility!

What is it with all the threads on AF today. Everything's turned to hostility! It makes me really sad that we all just can't get along.

Guys wonder why we don't post our pics for them to see. Just look at what's happened to Blow Off's pic and that comment was by a fellow girl!! Totally sucks.

I think that if you haven't got something nice to say then don't say it at all.

Sorry, just had to let off some steam and thought the girlie forum was the best way to do it.

I am sorry to see what has happened. In 3 months I've never seen anything as harsh as that And I hope to never again.

AF is a very open community, and it's too bad that some people take that as an invitation to openly bash other members for apparantly no reason...

What the hell happened? I leave for the weekend and come back and some stuff is going to hell. I saw that post and could not believe someone had the nerve to go that far. It started out as a little fun, but that remark just turned things around.

When I was new to another board, someone posted a pic of me that they took from my own website and all the guys made comments about my weight and what not and that really hurt. But I had to get a grip and tell myself who the hell cares what someone 2500 miles away from me thinks? I hope Blow-Off will consider not letting something on the internet get to him, but some people are sensitive no matter where it comes from.

Absolutely! And that’s why I always live by the rule “if you haven’t got anything nice to say to someone, don’t say it at all!”. Hopefully all will settle down and return to normal soon!

I'm sorry. I tried to forget about this, for other reasons then a flame fight, and I also tried to stay out of your way in here. But let me give you my view on how things are.

First, I think it takes alot to put your picture up in a public forum like this. But I think it all depends on the attitude on how you do it, that determins the outcome. For instance, KatWomen and FTO Girl. You put yours up, without some smart ass title, and I think people were very respectable. The way he titled his thread, he was looking for a reaction from people, and he wanted the attention. But when someone did not give him the attention he wanted, he blew up, and came in with personal flames.

If I were to post my picture here, saying I was the shit. I know I would have things like this happen. But If I posted it, not acting like a dumbass. People are going to be nicer. they wont have something to prove. So I guess what it comes down to, is your attitude. Thats the way life is.

Just my opinion.

Hmm. At first I didn't know it was a pic of himself he posted until reading later posts. I thought maybe it was a fellow AFer and that the pic/title of thread was posted as a joke.

I can agree with what you said about the title of the thread asking for a bashing, however me personally, I took it as a joke. I guess I should be glad I missed out on the flaming session while it was going on.

Another thought I had was SiChick's (or whatever her user name is) post and noticed there are only 13 posts under the name...my guess is either she's a brave newbie or maybe it's an alter-ego of someone who had a beef with BlowOff.

Well, when I talked to her via AIM to give her a warning, she sounded just as blonde as her posts. But you never know.

No offense to blondes, as I am one too.

I agree with you Kat. The only thing I got out of that thread title was that it was a joke. I guess it all comes down to different perspectives!

I agree when it has been said that BlowOff posted his picture, with the thread intended as a joke. However, things did get out of hand, involving several people, including myself. I can say that from what I know, it was more than just the attitudes of certain individuals on AF towards his picture, although he did not help the situation himself, that caused him to leave AF, and "disappear". I can also tell you that yes, he needed to cool down a bit. But, there is a chance, a small chance, however, that he will be back on AF in the future. I honestly hope to see him around here again, because I do believe that he has a lot to contribute to the boards.

If you are going to post your pic, do it. I will not, but this is a personal preference for the meantime. I applaud those of you who have posted their pics, as it does require a certain amount of bravery so to speak and a lot of backbone. Perhaps BlowOff was too new so that his attitude was not taken appropriately. We should remember this incident for future posts and think about what we say before we hit "submit".
