MP3 Downloading Woes

I used to use kazaa all the time. Now with these lawsuites being thrown at people, I don't want to risk going on kazaa. I tried using "filetopia" which is totally anonymous from what I hear. It is a major pain in the ass to download songs from this this program, but I put up with it b/c I don't want to risk getting caught downloading songs from kazaa. What are you guys doing about this? I hear some people say that "kazaa lite" and "winmx" are also safe, but I have heard from others that they are not. Let me hear what you have to say, I want to get back to downloading my songs without worry.

Use KL, just keep the music you share down low (under 300-400 songs) and you won't be targeted.

Well you can either stop worrying about being busted or you can cease and desist.

You cant get over the fact that what you are doing is illegal, I hate the RIAA as much as the next guy, and I think all the recording execs are about the dumbest collection of people in the world but downloading music is still theft. Its good not to feel comfortable doing it, you shouldent.

Anyway...

Kazaa is really starting to suck after these lawsuits, hard to find anything rare these days. Something new will pop up sooner or later and everybody will move to that. If you want to dl videos and such I hear bit torrent is the way to go.

Seriously though, I suggest you get winamp and listen to the internet radio, theres something like 500 channels, tons of music, and its free and mostly legal. You will probably hear stuff you like and get exposed to new bands and such.

Re: Re: MP3 Downloading Woes

Napster is also starting back up as a legal way of downloading songs.

You pay something like a $1 for single, and $10 for a whole album, not a bad way to build a music collection, your garunteed to find the song you like, and unlike finding them illegaly its garunteed to be a high quality MP3

use kazaa, don't share your files. I hear that the way they catch the people is they search for copywrited files and the users that have them get busted.
