I have a 1997 Blazer that the transmission just went out it. Come to find out it's a problem that Chevy knows about, has issued a tech bulletin on and released an upgrade kit. They put a "plastic Hub" (who would put a piece of plastic in a transmission?)in these transmissions that just will not hold up, they break and you lose reverse, 2nd, 3rd & 4th gears. The guy at the transmission shop says that he sees this all the time and that we should all get together and file a class action lawsuit and I agree. Any others out there interested?

Re: Blazer Transmission
I think the major problem your complaning about is the reaction shell. Yea It's common, It's been updated & you realy see a lot of these fail in the winter, from people trying to get unstuck, doing the reverse to drive thing. There not plastic though.
Abuse anything & you'll find it's weakest link! EVERY ONE, HUM ALONG, HAVE YOU SUED ANYONY LATELY. & |

Re: Blazer Transmission
I just had a similar failure in my 99 and the tranny shop just said something is broke and will cost approximatly 1500 bucks. I was just driving along on the hightway when mine failed.
I wonder how hard to repair on own? |
