Ek9 Project
Lookin For A Site That Shows The Price For A Brand New Full B18c5 Engine Swap Into A Ek9. The Full Block And All The Components To A Successful Swap To A Ridable State. Also If I Buy An Automatic Ek9, Yet Swap For A B18c5 (which Obviously Only Comes In Manual) Is There A Kit For Me To Get The Correct Pedals To Drive The Manual, Or Do I Have To Search Through A Junk Yard In Order To Find A Part For The Ek9. Also When I Buy Performance Parts Do I Buy It For The B18c5 Or For The Ek9? Im Not Sure If An Integra Type R Header And Full Exaughst Will Allign With The Ek9 Chasis. Correct Me If Im Wrong. I Know When I Buy Internals And Bolt Ons I Would Have To Buy Parts For The B18c5, But Not Sure About Exaughst. Also About The Pedals. Would The Civic Manual Setup Work With The New B18c5? Lol Also I Got Something Thatll Probably Get Ur Mind Thinkin N Smile. Do U Guys Think It Would Be Possible For Me To Buy A Civic Hb, And Then A Gsr, Then Switch Engines, Then Sell The Gsr For The Price I Bought It For. That Way I Can Get A Free Engine Swap. Is There Any Regulations, Or Any Way That The Buyer Can Come Back N Say No I Didnt Buy This Car. Even If He Signed A Paper Stating That He Agrees To Buy The Car As It Was When He Examined It? Just Wondering, Cause I Dont Have That Kind Of Money To Buy Two Cars At The Same Time.

I'm gonna go off on a limb and say that it will be cheaper most of the time to buy just the engine from a car than to buy the entire car itself. Also the swap wouldn't really be free cuz if you buy the car the price of the engine, among other things, will be factored into the purchasing price. And no one will buy a car from you if you take out the engine but try to sell the car as if it were in working condition- it ain't gonna happen. What exactly do you want to do- build up a ITR a GSR or both. There are a lot of sites to get swaps from just do a search. Just out of curiousity- How old are you-and what are your means of funding.

Re: Ek9 Project
hmotorsonline.com get your swap from there. for auto to manual swap, there's a lot of little parts that go into it that you might overlook, so have a shop do that.
as for upgrades for the engine, anything having to do with internals get for the b18. as for exhaust you have to go with one for you hatch, the header, i'm not too sure on, but i'm sure you would have to get it for the b18 and then maybe customize it to make it fit, because the ports have to be the right size for the block. and no, if you don't tell him that you didn't swap the engine out you can get in trouble for that....i think

I'm in no way an expert so this is all my opinion and what I have been told, read, or heard. I was stuck between an ITR or H22 also. I decided to go with the GSR engine though- the engine you don't want now. I decided not to go with either because the H22 is pretty big and in my 95 ex coupe it would throw-off the cornering and weight- which they all would pretty much do. I want to keep the a/c and p/s so I think it will be easier to make custom pieces w/ the gsr clearance. I want to go turbo but heard that the H22 wasn't a good motor to go FI and the ITR was to problematic, expensive, when it came to large amounts of boost. Right now I want to go w/ the GSR but my ultimate decision will come when I actually have the money to purchase an engine. You should want a clean engine though thats the way I am too. If you want a good n/a I would go ITR. If I decide to try to turbocharge it I might still go w/ the ITR. But do research like you said and get concrete reasoning. Since I not going to buy an engine until things w/ my new job get finalized- my reasoning is kinda iffy I need to do more research too.
