Need help : intake

I just got my intake for my Eclipse 93 GS. I have installed, though a bit tricky because of some of the angles, I had to take out the old air box which the old intake was in. There was a wire being connected into the old box which if im not mistaken is where teh Intake air sensor is, and other electronics. So I took out the box and I now how this wire just hanging there, I put the new intake, which you can see in the picture here : http://www.logicrealms.com/4images/d...a/7/intake.JPG

I connected the Blue tube to the breather and put a clamp so it wont fall off. But I dont know what to do with these peices circled in red: http://www.logicrealms.com/4images/d.../7/intake2.JPG

Im worried because I have that wire just hanging there, and the CHECK ENGINE light is lit. In the old air box i can see the electronics that was there, what do I do with it? I know many of you are good mechanics, especially for eclipses. I would be grateful if somebody helped, I want to have my car running by today . Thanks in advance.

Yeah you kinda need that wire hooked up for your car to run, or run half decent at all. That sensor (MAF) does a variety of things. So you need to find someway to incrporate it into the intake you bought.

Buy a replacement K&N, leave the can half off, so the filter is open, and use the stcok tube.

call the company up from where you got the intake and ask em about it. Cause you need the mass air flow sensor. The purpose of it is to tell the computer how much air flow is going into the motor. Also used to calculate how much load for fuel and spark i believe
