Is there a way to turn off the ABS warning light, Trac light and the tire pressure light other than replacing the ABS Mod?

Re: 1997 GP GT - ABS Lights always on
Have you gone somewhere like the dealer or Autozone and had the codes pulled? If you have..and it is the ABS module, then why not replace it? I wouldn't skimp when it comes to brakes....they're what keeps you on the road.

Same thing happened twice on my 97 GP. Both times wheel sensors went bad. You will need to replace the entire hub as the sensors are not repairable.

Have you checked to see if the fuse that protects the ABS and TCS systems hasn't blown? I'm not sure about the '97 but the '02 has a 10A fuse under the hood for the ABS and TCS. It also protects the MagnaSteer® system. Does your steering feel unusually heavy?

Look under the dash. There's a button that you hold in for about 10 sec. Also works on "low air" light.

Clean the ABS Speed sensors at each wheel with a air compressor, i was posted some thread about it... first do this, you can save a lot of $$$$ money...
Hope this helps

I had the same problem on my '00 SE. Took it to the mechanic, and he tested it w/ the computer and he didnt have any codes come up. He then tested each wheel individually and realized that my driver's side front wheel wasn't putting out any code at all. So i took the car to the dealer and they said they would have to replace the wheel hub. Unfortunetely, they replaced it with a bad weel hub and had to replace the hub yet again. But once they fixed the hub, the lights turned off. Hope that helps.

Just to let you know.....The issue was the wire harness had been rubbed through and broke the connection. I repaired and I am good. |
