matching clearance lights with cool blues

I just bought a pair of sylvannia cool blue headlight bulbs for my '98 GLE but noticed that the clearance lights next to the headlights look yellowish next to them. can anyone suggest a clearance light bulb brand that would complement the cool blues nicely?

PIAA

I'm running the PIAA's in the corners. Make sure you make the change in the clearance lights to light up the 27Watt filiment. The socket and bulb have 2 notches so the bulb only goes in one way. If you cut the upper notch off the bulb with a pair of nail clippers, turn it 180 deg so the lower notch on the bulb goes into the upper notch slot in the socket, the high watt element will light up in the corners. Makes them nice and bright and should match your headlights perfectly.

Question

i tore off the wrong nub on the left clearance bulb (doh!) so i couldn't run it at the higher wattage. so i tore off the nub closest to the bulb on the right bulb, then inserted the bulb 180 degrees. when i turned the switch, the left one lit up at the regular 5 watt, but the right one i turned 180 didn't light up at all. i tried reinserting several times but it wouldn't work so i put it back in the original way and it light up at 5 watt again. what am i doing wrong?? is it because it will only light up 27 watt if both left and right bulbs are switched 180?? i obviously didn't pay attention in physics or i would be so confused
