1986 Parts?

Where is the best place to get parts for an 1986 VW golf? I will need full replacement of the exhaust system. New brakes will be soon, slong with wires, plugs, cap and rotor. Help would be greatly appreciated.

for your exhaust, http://www.tttuning.com - techtonics make great exhaust systems and parts.

for cap and rotor and basic tuneup type stuff you can just hit advanced autoparts for or a similar dealer.

when you do your brakes, make sure you get them for a later 80's 8v gti, since your car came with solid front disk, you'll want a vented 9.4" disk and thinner pads to accomodate the extra width. but don't worry, your calipers will accept the wider vented disks as long as you use the pads to match.

good pads are mintex red box, or pagid "fast road" pads

they, as well as the disks themselves can easily be found at
http://www.autotech.com

good luck.
