KA tranny upgrades?

I'm going to be replacing the synchros in my KA tranny soon. Are there any upgrades or are OEM ones the best there available? Are there any shorter gears that can be installed, replacing the factory gears?

why shorter gears

even though 240 back ends like the move around during high speed turns, its still fun to cruise at 120

i dont really have a problem with the back end coming out --> hicas

. it is good for something.

shorter gears = faster acceleration.
right now, 5th gear is capable of well over the s13's top speed capabilites.

wouldn't cruisin at 120 in 6th gear be even more fun?

now that i'm really thinking about it, shorter gears would suck. you'd have to shift too often.

well, are there any beefier tranny gears and synchros that you can replace the factory ones with?
