1991 Firebird
I own a 1991 firebird 3.1 V6 60 deg. I am putting in an engine in it b/c the guy I bought it from is retarted and let the oil run out and froze up the engine. question 1 what is recommended to make the firebird as fast as possible w/o actually going into motor work except cam lifters. 2 should I rebuild the old motor and hot rod it up while driving the other motor (stock)?

What's the other motor, a V8? If so, I'd say build it up and then swap that sucker in

Re: 1991 Firebird
I have the same engine but mine is not in that bad shape. I was going to put a 350 or a 502 but i want to see what this 3.1 can do first. So i recomended that you should do the same too becuase i think i can get more than 700 HP out of it with out NOS. I say this becuase I had a 986 HP Toyota Supra and that was a 97. So maybe I could do the same with this one.

how in the hell could I possibly get over 600 hp out of a 12 year old 60 deg V6? If that is really possible with the budget of less than 10,000 let me know
