I believe Jackson sells an 8 psi pulley. Endyn sells better ones.
Anything over 8 psi and...well...I've heard bad things can happen. The JRSC is good, but overpriced. It all depends on what you want in your car.

it shoudl be the same as any us civic si or canadian sir. stock pulley is 6.5 psi and the unpgrade kit which is a bigger pulley for 8psi and a fuel pump to up the pressure. upgrading past 8 psi should only be done if you know what your doing. detonation managment becomes and issue with the the high compression of a b16 on even 93 octane pump gas when you go past 8 psi because of dramatically increased intake charge temps. some massive ignition retardation or some method of cooling will be necessary, the water injection is a joke of you ask me so the next best thing would be to have the charger reworked to better tolerances so it flows better and creates less heat during compression. next problem would be fuel, your gonna have to have your pressure way to high so your gonna have to get some bigger injectors (you would have to with a turbo too). just raising the pressure higher and higher dependent on boost is only a half ass patch to a problem and will eventually lead to problems of its own. the stock fuel pump (of an SI) i believe texan said is capable of handling 400hp at stock pressures. not to mention the piggybacks your gonna need to control this shit
to make a long story short if you plan on staying around the 6-8 psi level then the jrsc is ok i guess. i would still consider a small turbo like the 15g or 16g kit from greddy as it is much easier to maintain acceptable intake charge temps and essentially create more power with less boost, and you can adjust the turbo WAY more easily then the jrsc to meet different driving conditions like the change from street to track. one thing people often overlook is you can alter a turbo around a motor but you have to alter a motor around a supercharger. if turbo lag is getting you down then while your replacing your stock clutch which you'll probably have to, throw on a lightened flywheel and have your turbo manifold extrude honed. well im boring myself so im gonna go now, adios |

I am after a daily driveable, quality, reliable power increase and don't really want a turbo. This seems the way to go. What other B16A SC kits are there? Thanks for the info, all.

The other sc kit that I know of is the Vortech kit. Like Trinity said, it's really just a belt driven turbo. The kit is like close to $4000 USD...I'd rather have a turbo over this.
