How do you shift?

I've been driving the mustang around for a while now and know it inside out. Recently, i took by sister's GSR for a spin and was surprised of how different it is. When I was accelerating, I could shift without ever releasing the gas. When i drive my 944 or mustang I have to let go of the gas a little between shifts otherwise the rpm will shoot too high. I was wondering if there was a proper way to shift when you're racing.

well depending how hard you are pressing the pedal the rpms should shoot pretty high if you dont let off the gas while shifting unless you are shifting hella hella hella fast. i dont really shift fast anymore just cuz i dont see the need, just extra wear on your car but i keep holding the gas for a split second after i press the clutch to give the revs a small jump when when i get it into the next gear and let off the clutch it doesnt jerk at all from revs dropping then going back up really fast
