Unhappy Major MPFI Swap Frustration, Please Help!

Car: Honda Civic LX Sedan 91' - MPFI Swap

Hello,
I am new here, although I am not at all new to civics, I have owned a 90 Sedan LX, and an 88 CRX Si. I now own a 91 LX and have justed swapped over to the JDM MPFI intake. Here is what I have bought--

1. Si Distributor
2. 92 DX pigtails
3. Si ECU
4. Resistor Box
5. Brand new TPS
6. (on stand by) Si engine wire harness.

Now here is the problem. The car starts up fine without the two sensors plugged in, it idles perfect. BUT! It won't go past 3000-3200 RPMS, it just boggs out. Now, when the two sensors are plugged in. It works even worse!! barely even idling, sounding like its hanging on for life. So I just went and bought a damn engine wire harness for 165 bux, and I was looking at the plug that is next to the resistor and waddaya know, that is a different plug than the one that is on the si wire harness. Anyone know what I should do? Please help me, I haven't been able to solve it for over two weeks now. Thanks.

-Justin

Have you tried searching, because I know a lot of mpfi stuff has been discussed. I had problems with mine, and then I helped somebody with his so there might be some info that will help you there. I just searched "mpfi" and 4 pages came up, so try that if you havent already.

Well, I already read threw several of those, and believe me I have been to many different web sites about this. I read a thread back with someone who had a similar problem, name was blade1234 or somethin'. I need direct help with the issue. I have searched low and wide. Believe me I haven't taken this lightly at all, I have been working on it for two weeks. Thanks.

Ya, I was the one who was helping out blade because he was having problems like the day after I finished mine. The only two things I can tell you is to make sure you have no vacuum leaks, this will cause a very high idle.
The other thing is to shield the wires taht go to the distributor, C1 and C2. Using non shielded wires will cause the rpms to not go past about 3K and they will bounce around that spot. This was my major problem and once I used shielded wires my car ran perfect. I had read that someone else had this problem and corrected it with shielded wires.
One more thing I remembered is one time I had the C1 and C2 wires too close together and it gave me a code. I seperated them a little and it worked again.
Youve probably already read all this stuff, but this is all I can help with...

Thanks for the help! I figured out why, it was actually a mis-wire in the b-zone. Unfortuantly I am not using shielded wires and its still bouncey all though it stopped throwing the CPS Code #4 at me. Also, I ran it, and reved it and reved it, and when I looked under the car the freakin cat was glowing red!!! Any ideas on that? Now it is just a matter of perfecting it, i think I am going to clean the injectors and replace the seals, maybe that will help too?

::EDIT::

It's also throwing these codes.

Code 1: Oxygen Sensor
Code 10:
Code 14:
Code 16:

I think those are all sensor codes. If anyone knows anything it may help. Thanks.

Take a look at 4th Generation Civic and click on the FAQ and ECU codes link. It looks like you may have the EACV and Intake Air temp sensors crossed. You have to be careful cuz a lot of these connectors look identical. (I'm sure you noticed that...) I had similar issues when I did my ZC swap, and it was all just connector stuff, no mechanical problems.

You should definetly replace all the seals. Having the injectors cleans sounds like a really good idea too. Ive been trying to get around to having mine done.

Okay! I switched the sensors around bam! All my wiring is now correct and I re-wired the distributor sensor with shielded wire. NOW I am only getting one code. Code 16, I checked and rechecked and it is one of my injectors. So I am going to try and clean them out and later replace the seals (damn pepboys doesn't have em) just to see if they will work. If not, then looks like I will have to order some new ones maybe. I hope not though because I have the JDM intake, so that means there goes my bigger injectors.. Anyways, thanks for all of your guys help in this thread, if anyone has anymore suggestions on the injectors let me know please. Thanks guys.

If you want bigger than stock injectors you can use the 450cc injectors from a DSM

Yeah, my injectors were fine. I think it may actually be my fuel relay. I dunno, anyone know if a code 16 would be the result of fuel relay problems? Also, if I run my car for long enough, the cat gets so damn hot it glows!

Okay, my car runs, but I think I may have a vaccum leak and I am still getting a code 16 after changing the injectors. Now I was checking out a couple sites and i noticed everyone has there pigtails (injector wires) set on this way.

http://www.fourthgenhatch.com/photos...-wirecover.jpg

I have mine turned around so the bar is in fact facing fowards and not backwards like in the picture. Does this make a difference? and could that cause a code 16??? Please help, I think my problems are almost over...i hope! Thanks.

::EDIT::

Also, does anyone have a diagram of how the map sensor hoses should look??? If so please post it. I just want to make sure I didnt botch that either.
