Bad salesman

I leased a new Honda Civic from Tamaroff Honda in Bloomfield Michigan. I had to co-sign because I didn't make enough "reported" income. So my Dad and I closed the deal after haggling and going through a bunch of BS with financing, etc. I had my paperwork and everything and the snake, I mean salesman, asked me to come back as they were still "prepping" the car.

So I go to pick up the car without my Dad later that day and the salesman had the keys in his hand, the car outside and says, "Hey, I need you to initial this real quick and then we'll go get your car". So I didn't even read the thing (like a DUMBASS!!!), but I figured he couldn't change anything since we had our copy and my Dad wasn't going to initial it.

So 3 years later I go to turn the car in and they bill me for 9,000 miles over my contract which was $1500. I checked my copy and it said 45,000 mile lease, and I was barely over. So I come to find out that the snake had made me initial HIS copy of the contract, after he changed the mileage to 12,000 a year, total of 36,000. I sued the dealership, and got half what I got taken for back.....

So the lesson is.... make sure you read everything, and don't ever initial or sign anything you don't take the time to read first... and lastly.... NEVER GET A CAR AT TAMAROFF HONDA!
