HID Madness

Wasup fellas. If any of you remember my previous threads, I have been having headlight issues for the past 4 months. I swapped out stock for Black Housing Projector/Halos. Projecors SUCK, so I got a H1 HID Kit. The light beam was of course stronger, but still horrible reflection to the road (the reflector piece in there is a pain in the ass to adjust). So I bought black housing OEM style headlights. They look great, beam pattern is back to normal.

DO I stop there? NEVER!!!

I got some 9006 HID bulbs to go with my existing kit (couldn't let it go to waste!)

Now the light is so bright and spreads so wide and far, everyone else on the road is blinded!!! I get flashed all the friggin time!

I don't wanna blind everybody, but I love my HID. What can I do to cut the beam off a little lower? Would eyelids work? I don't really know of anything else I could do that would cut the beam off at the top.

Any suggestion??? The rest of Tallahassee is pretty pissed at me!

BTW, the pic in my sig is old, my projector days are done!

Re: HID Madness

My foglights blind the shit out of people, but when I turn them off I can hardly see the road because yes, halo projectors suck ass. Put some eyelids on them I guess, unless you can adjust the entire housing to aim down some.

I have Halo projectors and, while I do wish they were brighter, I have had no problems w/ them. What problems have you guys had or heard of. Also my bulbs are H3- would it be worth it to go w/ HID on such small bulbs. I heard it wasn't. Also is there a way to get a bigger bulb w/o changing the entire light housing itself- meaning to fit in the headlights I have now.

You should be alright with the H3's Its the H1 bulbs that usually come in projectors (like mine) that suck. They're so little, there's barely any light production. And after that little bit of light is bounced around in the projectors, the amount hitting the road is miniscule.

At least this is my experience as well as many others I have spoken to (such as Ricochet)

H3 bulbs are a bit meatier than H1. H1 is the smallest, shittiest bulb there is. If it is used properly, you will be able to see, but in projectors

Also, I'm pretty sure I'll try eyelids (even though I never liked them all that much) But if I decide I hate them and wanna go back to blinding folks, are they easily removable? I've never actually studied up on eyelids so i'm not sure what they are. I assumed it was a plastic covering that cuts off the top of the housing, but I was lookin at a car with them and they looked like some sort of stick-on application. I dont wanna stick anything to my housing that won't come off!

I know, I know. Stop whining!
But I can't!!!

Re: HID Madness

I've seen a couple sites which sell precolored vinyl ones for like $12/pair and $30 unpainted plastic ones. Go out to your car at night and cover up a little bit of the top part with some cardboard or something and see how the projection looks on the road before buying anything.
