Is it true 4th gens are faster than 5th gens?

With the same mods? Why is that?

Also on the 5th gen, what is different from the base and SH?

Re: Is it true 4th gens are faster than 5th gens?

realistically speaking, this is a driver's race. but with ALL variables being dead equal, same driver and conditions, the 4th gen should theoretically come out ahead. they have a weight advantage, they have shorter gearing than the 5th gens. so 1/4 mile/acceleration-wise the 4th gens are quicker.

sh has what's called ATTS to make it handle better, different wheels, standard spoiler, leather shift knob, courtesy lights, color-matching skirts and a few other differences. search for more details. those are the main things.

Yes

Well first of all the have different compute programs the 4th gen had the obd1 which lets u do more stuff to the car and it will no change the setting the obd2 which is in the 5 gen suck because they try to udjust to the setting so the car will work right but all it does is mess up all the timing and stuff. And its a little lighter. oh and the other thing that i heard was the the older h22a engines are stronger that the one from 97 and up.

Active Torque Transfer System (ATTS):

Honda's revolutionary Active Torque Transfer System assists the driver in cornering actively applying more power to the wheel on the outside of the comer, thus reducing understeer and the steering effort required The notion is similar to the action required when rowing a boat.

Front wheel drive cars suffer from understeering problems as opposed to Rear wheel drive cars. the ATTS shifts power to the outside wheel when cornering to help correct the problem. and yes, if you've driven both the 5th-SH and 5th standard, it's a noticeable improvement.
