Insurance Question

I'll keep this brief:

Would anyone happen to know what the insurance would be on a 1988 Trans Am for a 17 year-old boy?

I totalled a '98 Ford Escort (ZX2) the second day I had my license. This incident is NOW off my record, but my insurance company refuses to acknowledge the fact.

I now possess a '00 Ford Focus (wagon), and the insurance is about $1677 every 6/mo. Jesus Christ!

So what I'm wondering is, is if I downgrade (yes, an interesting choice of words) to an '88 Trans Am, will my insurance decrease? ESPECIALLY if I don't cover collision?

-All help appreciated!

Well, on one hand, your TA will be a performance vehicle which usually means more $$$ for insurance BUT you will be "downgrading" to an '88 not to mention you aren't going with full coverage. I think you have a good chance of paying less if you do this. Also, I'd look into different insurance companies. Some people end up saving a lot of $$$ by switching to another company.
