headlights

Does anyone know if there is some kind of conversion kit to change the headlights on an 86 635csi to the headlights on the 88 or 89 model? I think the stock lights aren't that great. I need something brighter.

Just go halogen

If you've still got a set of those feeble US-spec sealed beams, try swapping in a set of H4/H1 Hellas or other e-code halogen like Cibie. Even with 55w/60w bulbs, you'll see a substantial improvement over the seald beam lights. Cost runs about $100 pair, i.e. $200 to update low and high beams. Once you have the lense housings, you can update your wiring/relays and increase bulb wattage, although keep in mind that it's best to limit this to the high beams. Blinding oncoming drivers with 80 watt low beams is rude, illegal and might result in them running in to you!
