Talking chevy 305

Hey,
You might try summit racing, they have a stroker kit for your engine. I think the 383 is a 350 that has been bored something like 40 over and it uses a 400 smallblock crank instead of the 350 crank thus increase the bore and stroke, i am not exactly sure, but i know my father has just rebuilt his stroker engine and is getting close to 300 HP with 350 ft lbs of torque and is still getting 16.8 mpg on the highway with his 85 4x4 chevy. Your local machine shop will have a good bit of information on how everything should be done and even be able to computer match your vehicle with your engine. Just for a question, why dont you rebuild the 305? The 305 is actually a good engine and it can be built to compete with the 350, remember the 305 from the factory had the same amount of HP -160- and just a little less torque. The good thing about the 305 is the fuel millege!!! Dont get me wrong, the Stoker motor is bad ass...squealing the tires in all 4 gears with an auto is fun !
