halo lights

i have denji halo headlights for my 94 honda civic
when i turn on my headlights my lights inside dim did i do something wrong should i get a bigger battery

Do you have the dimmer switch inside the car set to a low level? Be funny as hell if that is all it was.

has to be. I've done it before and spent forever digging through wires, fuses, etc... and that's what it ended up being. I punched myself in the nuts and moved on.

We need a little more background info on your car. Was it ever in an accident? If so, the electrical grounding system may have been damaged during the collision/repair. If not, then you may require a capacitor to handle the extra electrical current being drawn by the new headlights.
First things first; If you plan on performing electrical work, purchase a voltimeter. They range from $18 - $300+. But don't worry, a cheap one from Radio Shack works great. You'll need to do 2 tests, both with the engine off. Turn on your headlights an measure the voltage drop using your O.E. headlights. Turn off your headlights, install your fancy headlights, turn on your headlights and measure the voltage drop.
Your O.E. headlights will drop voltage briefly then return to the normal level. Your fancy headlights should behave the same. However, if your fancy headlights lower the voltage but do not return to the normal level, you will need a capacitor.

Hey biggruss... I have halos and have not encountered that problem. My clock dims when the headlights are turned on but thats normal. What Mendari suggested sounds all technical so that might work. Also what lights exactly, the dash lights, clock... what... everything. I would suggest getting a professional to look at it or a friend to go over your work. It might be something obvious that a different pair of eyes might notice. Hope it works, or has worked, out.

Or you could buy one of those $100 grounding kits. At a shop where a couple friends work, they dynoed a car before/after and it actually bumped up 7whp...
