Post '97 Grand Prix Electronic Problems?

Anyone had similar problems or know what's wrong with my vehicle? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Couple of days ago I drove a 3-hour trip back home without problems. Headlights were on at night with the light switch on "OFF". Gas tank reads a little over half full when I got home that night. The gauge was right under full when I started the trip.

Next morning. Started up the car and "Low Oil" signal showed up. Headlights flickered a few times. I assume to warn me of the low oil situation. The gas gauge jumped a few gallons beyond full. I drove it to work anyway. Not too cold, didn't have to use the heat. Added 3 quarts of oil to the engine that afternoon. Started up the car for a couple of minutes. "Low Oil" signal disappears. Gas gauge reads between Half and a quarter full. I drove less than 10 miles since last night.

This morning the automatic lights didn't turn on. Still dark outside before 7 AM. Manually turn headlights on with switch. Rear defrost button wouldn't not turn on. It wouldn't light up when I press it. Temperature knob was turned all the way towards heat. The fans wouldn't turn on as well when I put it on "1", "2", "3" or "4" on the fan knob. No air was coming out of the vents.

This afternoon. Headlights turned on automatically when light switch on "OFF". The rear defrost works, it turned on and off when I pressed the button. The fans now work as well, the AC button was lit up and wouldn't allow me to turn it off. Cool air was blowing out when the temperature knob was all the way over on the heat side.

Anyone know or have an idea what's wrong?

I Have the same problem with the gas. Once it gets below 1/2 full it starts reading full. I still dont know what is wrong with it , all i can tell you to do is to remember how many miles you can go on a full tank and reset you trip counter every time you fill up

Thumbs down

Thanks for your suggestion. My gas gauge jumps up and down, from full to quarter to half to full and back to quarter.

Anyone there that might know what the other problems could be??
