LS smokin a GSR?
Hey What up everyone i am kinda new here. I am a fan of integras and only a sophomore in high scool. My sisters friends boyfriend (did u get all that?) has a 94 integra LS with a bomb stereo and he said he'll hook me up with it for 5k. I dont know its got 120k miles but its a stick. He said if you pick up a VTec head and machine it on the LS engine it could easily smoke any stock GSR out there. U guys hear anything bout that stuff or is he just trying to get me to buy his car.

By the way this isn't my car or the car i am thinking of buying. but can anyone tell me what body kit this is and do GSR have different body than LS or just different engines?

just differrent engines to my knowledge
by the way an LS/Vtec setup won't beat a stock GSR. Not unless he has other engine mods on it

all integra's share the same body from Generation to Generation...as for the LS/Vtec...sure it will make more power, but the LS rods can't handle much more than 7,000 rpm....I would get new rods, oversized forged pistons, ARP bolts, new bearings, along with a portflow b16a head...if your going to do LS/Vtec, do it right the first time....you don't do it right the first time, it will fuck up....if the shop does a good job on everything, it will run flawlessly....if they didn't make more power, why would people do it...the b18b has more displacement than the b18c...I personally would never do this...If I was going to franky an engine, it would be CRVTEC, b20b block with a Vtec head
if you want power b18b and a turbo is good for smiles all day b18b1 has 142hp stock b18c1 has 170hp stock torque numbers are the same it's up to you, I personally would get the b18b and turbocharge it |

Well, if you have $$ to start swapping engine parts, why not pay a little more and get a 94 gsr? Well, if the guy who is sawping the head dont knows what he's doing, you'gonna get lots of trouble. whats different between a 94 ls and a gsr? the rims (if you want the stock look) and different internal specs. go with the turbo!!!

The swap you're describing is an LS/VTEC, and from what I've heard (which is mostly internet hearsay), they should be able to take a GS-R if tuned correctly. However, to get the head installed and all the other bullshit necessary to get it running right, you'll be parting out with more money than necessary to just get a GS-R. The B18B1 (Integra LS) does have 37 additional cc's of displacement than a B18C1 (Integra GS-R), and makes more torque at lower rpms (though the GS-R has greater peak torque at higher rpms), but the bottom end is not up to the same tasks at the GS-R bottom end. The GS-R gets beefier connecting rods, and a more sophisticated oiling system that squirts oil directly and accurately onto the bottom of each piston. IMO, you can't put a price on this extra protection. Above 7K rpms, you should have this equipment to protect your engine. I know people run 7,000+ rpms with the LS/VTEC, but I've never been a fan of this approach, no matter how much power they make. Like previous posts, I'd either get a GS-R, or turbocharge the LS. By the way, those are nice fucking rims |

Okay, thanks for the info. I think I will look around for a 94 or 95 GSR then. DOES ANYONE KNOW THAT BODY KIT ON THAT PIC I POSTED ABOVE?

I'm intrested in swapping a gsr engine in my LS and going from there instead of slapping a vtech head on the Ls engine, some one also told me that a ls is some what lighter than a gsr, lets say stock gsr against a stock ls with gsr swap??? will the gsr get spanked ? :bandit: also how much is a 96 Ls integra engine worth? with about 95K ???

But on a side note, the RS and GS integras are lighter than the GSRs, so if you do a full swap with tranny the car with the swap will be a faster. But i'm thinkin that the LS and GSR are the same weight since they both have ABS and all, but the RS and GS do not have ABS if i recall right.

The white integra up top has Wings West sideskirts, Combat rear
and probably a combat front. The wing is probably combat or invader, If you want to see a site with a bunch of kits go to www.wholesalehyperformance.com or www.importfan.com they have a lot of kits, better than the ones shown up above ![]() other sites are: www.wingswest.com www.visracing.com www.asylumms.com www.advanceimports.com

another exterior difference to the LS and GSR is that the LS comes with unpainted black side body moldings/pannels. The GSR has ones that are painted to match the cars color. The Type R has shaved body panels. The one in the picture @ the beginning of the post is most likely a GSR unless it was an LS with a paint job. That isn't Championship White is it? (strictly Type R color)
