ya, go to auctions, and some junkyards will sell whole cars, also just keep your eye out for wrecked cars, or old cars with junk engines that people are trying to sell for cheap

the best i've found is totaled car auctions. Thats where i got 3 hatches for $1,850. 2 88's a 91' and 2 of them ran with minor work. The 91 which is mine had 33,000 miles when I got it.

shit mabey i should just sell my car for 500, and put a down payment on a new one, here's the damage list,

needed:
very minor rear body work $100-$50
minor front end body work $200-$100
front bumper
front spacer panel
rear bumper
rear spacer panel
lil pieces to attach bumpers
hood
driverside fender
hatch

and i hate it, it's a std, i bought it cause it was a 4g hatch for $500 and i had no car and no money at the time, it originally had the rear damage, but now it has front end damage too, it runs fine, but looks like total shit, oh yhea and the paint job is almost oxidized has oxidized spots.
i spent $1700 putting a new jdm 45k mile engine in and i've only dirven it for around 6k miles since instillation.

Re: how to buy totaled ride?

I got my '91 Si with a bad engine for $200 - slight rust on 1 rear quarter - other than that & the engine, there was nothing wrong. I got a SOHC ZC for about $300 & popped it in. Also replaced the tranny not too long ago due to shot input shaft bearing 2nd & 3rd gear.

I was at an auction 2 weeks ago & a 1996 Integra with 113K went for $1500, should've have jumped on that one but I was too late.

damn dude where did you buy that engine from it cost me 600 + shipping to get a 1.5 civic engine from japan and when i got it i found out it was carberated, and had to spend a lil more money to have the shop change it over. i need your source dude, and you wouldn't happen to know anyone w/ fender, bumper, and spacerpanel for sale would you?

Re: how to buy totaled ride?

I bought the engine from a tech. @ the Honda dealer I worked for. I have a bunch of business cards @ work for reliable used engines(USDM/JDM), many of which we have used @ our shop & Honda. One I can think of off hand is : http://www.nippon-motors.com/honda.htm
