clutch install help needed please

alright, my clutch is toasted in the car and likes to slip alot now, dunno what its from tho hehe

anywho, what all is involved in replacing it? i got a new clutch already and a new pilot and throwout bearing, i was wondering if someone could give me a step by step list of things i'll have to do to replace just the clutch

get a book, they do a pretty good job of telling what to do. but heres a short version.

remve wheels, axles,dissconect any wires or cables attached to the trans. youll have to have somthing to hold the engine up so you can dissconnect the trans mounts and remove the trans.

Yes, you'll definitely need a clutch alignment tool. They should sell a cheap one at your local parts store (autozone or whatever...). The process goes something like this...

-Remove battery/intake
-jack up & remove wheels
-Drain tranny
-Remove axles(prolly have to disconnect your suspension to do this...
-Disconnect clutch cable
-Disconnect & remove starter
-disconnect speedo cable and speed sensor wires from tranny
-Loosen all bolts around the tranny, there will be several 17mm ones on the top and front that you will see from the tranny side of the motor, and one sneaky one that you'll have to get under the car and get from the motor side. Then there is a black plate over the flywheel with 2 smaller bolts.
-put a jack under the motor and remove all 3 transmission mounts
-remove transmission- they can be stubborn, so get ready to get a pry bar in between the block and the trans and push it off, just make sure your jack is supporting it good, so it doesn't just jump off onto the floor.
-Remove old clutch and flywheel... you'll need a 12 point 10mm and 17mm socket to get the clutch and flywheel off. I think it's always a good idea to have the flywheel resurfaced. It only costs about $30 and give you a nice, new surface for your nice, new clutch.
-then when the flywheel is back on, use the alignment tool to center the disc and do everything in reverse order. It's not too tough, and I can knock one out in about 6 hours, but I know of guys who can do it in 2-3.

There is only 1 repair manual for Honda's & thats the factory manual from Helm inc. All the others are half ass.

Dont forget about the flywheel - either repalce or machine.

Also break-in your new clutch by driving normally for the first 700 miles or so. Stay under 4,000RPM with normal shifting.

alright, well everything is done FINALLY, my dad started it around 3 pm and we finished around 11:45, took it for a quick test drive and i did run it above 4,000 rpm, so i think i'm gonna stop that (for the first 700 miles or w/e that is in km hehe) but the pedal feels ALOT softer, which i dont like at all, we couldnt machine the flywheel or replace it because we had no time, we just cleaned everything really really well, doesnt seem like it grips as much tho, and we didnt need a clutch tool, dunno how my dad did it but we didnt need one, he said it was just like how they did 4 speed trannys back in the day haha
ne who, off 2 bed for i'm up for work in 5 hours damn 8 am to 5:30 pm shifts

How did the flywheel look? You might be throwing another clutch in it real soon if it was bad.

my dad said the flywheel looked fine, and it was just a remanufactured clutch with a 1 year warranty i think, i dont mind if i gotta pull er out in 8 months and put a new free one in hehehehehe
