how do you change tail light bulb on 97 escort?
We just got a 1997 escort last night, and need to change the left rear turn signal bulb. There are no manuals with the car. I can see two exterior screws, but the cover is still attached to something and we can't find any interior screws. Can someone tell us how to change this bulb?
thank you! |

its really simple, on my 93 inside the trunk, there should be two removeable panels, small maybe 5 inches by 5 inches, take that out and there is the back of the tail light, the bulb will have wires coming out of it, turn, pull. if there arent any small panels, you'll haev to take whatever larger panel is in the way, but you dont haev to remove the tail light itself to change the bulb.

i had the same problem but once you remove the screws just pull the whole light assembly out a little bit and jiggle it and it should come loose.

just remove the two screws...then grasp the tail light assembly with both hands and pull straight out away from the side of the car. on the side of the car...where the light rounds to a piont...there is a pin and a rubber grommet. you'll see.
