There is no difference stamped on the tranny.
I believe dx's are 4 spd not positive though.

no they are 5 speeds, STD's are 4's

Actually, the DX & Si trannies have the same gearing. What makes them different is the final drive ratio in the Si.
There is a way to tell the difference. check here and head for the tranny info --> http://www.d16a.com Edit - wtf...that site is down        Well...there is a way and it has something to do with the markings on the casing of the tranny...maybe someone here knows?

the si tranny is stamped L3. that is the easiest way to spot it. if you would like i can take a pic of the stamp....i have one sitting outside

im trying to find the pic on how to test to see what gearing it has...
EDIT- no luck, only place i know has the way to see what gears you have by spinning the input shaft and seeing where the axles end up, is www.d16a.com which is currently down.
