Replacing radio of onstar Equip TBlazer

1St let me start by saying hello to everyone. I'm new to the board. My question is this. Would it be possible to replace the bose radio(6 disc changer)Witht an aftermarket radio and the onstar still work. If any one has done this let me know.I'm asking because In all of my cars I installed killer aftermkt systems. So Far I just hooked up an amp to the factory radio and added two 12" subs. I have all this Equip sitting gathering dust and wondered if My onstar system would still work

No you can't replace your radio and have Onstar still work. Check out this link for more info http://service.gm.com./gmtechlink/arcv_pdf/9_01_e.pdf

I know of some people that have added and aftermarket radio but also used a special harness to relocate the OEM one under the rear seats so the functions of the OEM radio ie Onstar and door chimes would still work.

Just a question if you already have the Bose system why would you want to change that is a fantastic radio.

Hope this helps

Re: Replacing radio of onstar Equip TBlazer

I have a 04 trailblazer without Onstar or the bose system and I want to replace the radio with an Eclipse CD/MP3 player but I don't know where to begin or if there's any special wiring I need. Any help would be appreciated.

Try myradiostore.com. They have all sorts of interfaces for factory units. Most have to do with satellite radio but they also deal with companies who have built all kinds of workarounds.

yes you can change your radio and retain the bose and onstar systems just fine

www.soundgate.com they make the module you would need to retain the control of onstar and also be able to interface with the bose system as well.
