96 Grand Am "Olympic Gold Edition"

Anyone have information on the 1996 Grand Am Olympic Gold Edition?

Was this edition just a dealer add on or from the factory?

I just recently bought this car as a first car for my son and am curious of the badges on the car reflecting the olympic symbol.
