Shaved side moldings

My side moldings are starting to crack all down my door. Should I just take it to a shop to have them replace in or should I try it myself? How much do shops charge for this?

how much are you guys paying to have your door moldings shaved? the shop i went to wants an extra 500 on top of the paint job to shave the moldings and holes, they said they weld it which is the correct way instead of using filler
