Cheap Speed Chip Mods

I was wondering if anyone had any experience or advice on the cheap speed chip mods out there, such as the ones on ebay for $5-15. Do they work or is it more like mental horsepower? Or do they actually screw up your car fuel economy/running? Really, what can $5 get you in this market?

I've thought about getting something along those lines too. I then did some research and at j-body.org, I found that as far as these chips go, what you pay for is what you get. I told my buddy the same thing, and he just ordered one for his cougar anyways. It will probably be here in a few weeks. IMO it's a waste of money.

It would be good to hear how that goes...I hesitate to let $5 screw up what I just paid $9500 for...

Yeah, after he installs it, I'll have him let me know if it's worth it, then I'll get back to ya.
