Re: Help on panel lines

1) Read FAQ

2) Thin a paint, and let it flow along the goove.

3) Buy a Micron Pigma or a very fine drawing pen, and draw the lines along the groove.

get yourself a gundam marker from gundam store and more.com. I think that they cost about $3.00 per marker and they are fantastic. Just get the very fine black marker, and you'll be good to go.

I tried the "let it flow along the groove" method...totally destroyed my work..the paint did not flow along the grooves....and i believed it's been thinned enough. and the i cant clean up the blot of paint after doing the groove thing!!!!!=x

That's probably because...

1) goove was not sharp. -> rescribe the panel line with the sharp side of the hobby knife. This gives the line extremely narrow, crisp and sharp.

2) paint wasn't thin enough -> paint and thinner ratio is something like 1 to 10 or even thinner.

3) types of paint for the body and panel line should be different. -> enamel and waterbase paint won't affect the lacquer paint, such as Tamiya TS spray or automotive body paint. It's a common practice to use those for the body, and use enamel for the panel line, so that enamel thinner won't affect the paint used for the body.
