need help removing door panels

i have a 93 honda accord sedan...i was able to remove all the screws ..
the only problem i'm having is removing the door handles...they don't seem to be removable..
i asked a couple of friends and they said to twist it 45 degrees...tried it but it seems like it's going to break...
anyone know of any other way to remove the door panels...
i have a broken window lift motor on my front passenger side from somebody backing up into my door...
trying to replace it myself but can't even get to it at this point...
any help is appreciated..thanks..

did you take the little cuppish plastic peice behind the handle. Once it's out just pop around the bottom edge loose and you should be cool.lift it from the bottom off the sill and enjoy.
