I don't know about a 98 grand am but if it like a 2001 grand am you would need to pull off the fuse covers on each side of your dash and take the bolts out then remove the dash.

Re: Does anyone know how to remove the dash from a 1998 grand am se??????
Theres more bolts than that. Behind the glove box(you have to remove it to get at the bolts and a few others. Pretty simple , if you tug and it dont move , theres a bolt holding it down , just keep pluggin at it and record where everything came from so you dont half ass puttin it back in. Check my gallery for some interior trim work ive done. I didnt remove the dash because theres so many things that could get messed up. Dont paint anything srs (the airbag cover on steering wheel and the dash airbag cover on the passenger side) if you do it cause it to deploy improperly if you were to crash. The hardest thing i painted on the trim of my 2000 grand am was the door arm rest pads , i had to break the plasti welds and fuse it back together. I can give you help on any of these topics for your project , just pm me and ask away.
