'03 Passat GLX 4M Brakes coming on by themselves!

I came out this morning and noticed my wife's car brake lights were on. When I lifted the pedal the the lights went out. Didn't think much of it other than to suggest she take it in.

I then got a call from her while she's dirving to work and she tells me that her brakes are coming on all by themselves. Not "locking them up" but fairly firmly.

She goes immediately to the dealer and of course they say they've never heard of such a thing. Fortunately the brake lights are now "stuck on" (don't know about the brakes themselves) but, as I'm sure you can imagine, I'm not psyched to have them tell me "can't duplicate".

Any thoughts would be VERY appreciated.

Thanks very much in advance!
