How much cash have you guys put into your cars?

I so far I have bought my car for
$6000 canadian and a
$300 kenwood mp3/cd deck
Currently I'm a full time student with a part time job makin just over $300 per pay check. I saved up for two years and bought the car so I don't have any payments to make on it.. I'm considering modding it but I still haven't decided.. I'm just wondering how much money everyone has put into their rides, and how long it's taken them to do so.. basically right now I'm saving up for a swap, and then seeing if I really want to go through with it once I can afford it.

Re: Re: How much cash have you guys put into your cars?

New '00 DX hatch - $13k

intake, 2 headers (one broke), exhaust - $1200
DX engine parts - $550
rims/tires - $1200
seats and other interior stuff/tint - $1000
3 tie bars - $400
exterior stuff.. lip, fog/headlights & bulbs etc. - $650
Pioneer deck, front/rear speakers and Rockford sub&amp - $1100
nitrous kit - $500
about 15 n2o fills - $650 (damn that shit adds up)
blew one engine, new DX including install - $550 (I miss the good old days of cheap swaps) ..blew that one too.
B16B engine after all parts/installation/shipping - $5100

Grand Total: $12,900, $13,000 for the car.. $25,900.

I owe $4,800 on the car, and $4,000 on the engine loan, so out of pocket so far is $17,100... Jesus, after gazing at these numbers I'm a little depressed.

Car(including taxes and tags 4700
Tires(installed at wal mart) 160
timing belt 23
water pump 32
one split CV boot 12.95
one headlight bulb 9.99

Total for my 94 civic DX 4937.94

Probably less if you figure in my gas savings as compared to my old car.

I put a few bills over $10,000 into my old 4dr teg (Magic Show) RIP.

Forged internals, head work, LSVtec, Custom Turbo Setup, suspension, some audio stuff. I really loved that car... Damn Volvo...

So far, the hatchback only has about $6000 into it....

Forged internals, some stereo, new brake setup, new suspension parts, etc... basically restoring the rest of it....

Kinda makes me feel a little cracked when I think about all the flow I've spent on a friggin econobox. But hey... they still beat the piss out of some quick cars.... so maybe it's worth it...

X2
