Viper 790XV

Anyone have it?
I went to a local small stereo shop and they wanted 500 something to buy it and get it installed the next day. I was like that's too much. So i go online and i find this, http://rgvnow.com/shop/product_info....1180529e8ece79

I figure i can get this for 300, get it installed professionally by people across the street that i trust, Circuit City, all for less than the 500 something they wanted. I know 300 is a decent price, but does anyone have a link to somewhere that's cheaper, or better yet, a review of this system?

hhmm yes the 790xv is a decent unit although it has it's flaws like any other alarm. one the antenna on the transmitter is glued on. two the transmitters themselves seem to get broken alot.

if you want two way technology the 790 is not the only way check out the 2wfm by compustar it has a 1 1/4 mile range.and also has a lifetime warranty.

ps did you say circuit city round here those words que the drums of death...

sorry but the ppl at the circuits around here do nothing but misinform ppl and fuck up easy installs. can it be that hard to wire up some subs???

I will say that the 2-way remote is the wink link with DEI but it is the same with all the others too. I have taken them apart before and all of them look about the same. The ones I have do not have the antenna glued on though.

The 2wfm by compustar you'll end up paying more for and is a pain to program. I haven't noticed any more range from them than DEI. Infact, I pulled one out and replaced it with a DEI unit.

You can go to DEI and look around. There are plenty of people selling them for around $150. You can select the Hornet line. It is about the same thing just with out lifetime warranty and is much cheaper.

the compustar 2wafm is fuckin hard the transmitter is bulkier but it get's very close to a mile and a qaurter compared to a mere 1000ft less if you are in heavily constructed building ie the mall. I sell dei so i'm not downing the 790xv or the 553t The compustar is a little bit more expensive but for the money it's a better alarm also works with manual trans...

as for programming if key clicking is harder than pushing a valet button put down your crimpers and go home...
