Maxima for Racing?

I am just curious why some people chose the Maxima for racing. I mean aren't there faster cars out there with better available mods?

BP2K2Max, were you abused as a child by a Honda? You seem to hate them very strongly.

Yes there are faster cars out there but no one expects a "family car" to be fast, therefore you have some exclusivity in that hardly anyone who goes to the track has a Max.

It is the sleeper effect, I prefer that, like BP said everyone and there mommas get a Honda<every since the F&F all of these kids seem to think that the Honda (especially the Civic) is the fastest thing on wheels.

nah i have lots of respect for honda's especially the jdms. but they are so damn common. i live on a main road, so i hear all sorts of cars drive by my house and almost everytime i hear a modified car cruise past my house, it's a honda. i have a bunch of friends who are in to cars. i'm the only one with a nissan. i have one friend w/ civic dx coupe with a jdm b18c swap in it, another civic coupe with a usdm gsr b18 swap, another friend with an H22 accord modified, another friend with a b16a civic hatchback with skunk2 cams and 4-2-1 header, another friend has an Acura 3.2 cl type S lightly modded, and one of my buddies just crashed his escort he used to deliver pizza's in and guess what he's buying. a 91 civic hatch with a b16a2(99-00 SI) engine. i need more variety, when we all hang out you'd think it was a honda convention. the only car i'm really impressed by is the CL. not that the honda's with engine swaps aren't fast, cuz they're definitely rockets, but once the novlety wears off, it's still just a 10 year old honda.

I just watched to vid with the Mustang. Domination is beautiful thing. But it shows a couple of good points. The Max the video camera was in didn't sound like an airplane. The camera wasn't shaking. There actually room to turn around while filming. Biggest point; typically you race alone and eliminate any extra weight. Hal put a spanking on the 'stang with a extra guy in the car.

Racing Maximas

I like to go autocrossing... and one of the best runs I saw was by guy who hooked up the older model Nissan Maxima his parents gave him as a high school graduation present... that thing moved nicely through the cones!

I was just curious, because there seem to be so many cars out there that can be made fast for less. For instance a jetta can get a good turbo for like 2000-3000 dollars...look at Maximas and theirs cost like $4000-$6000. I don't know, and there just doesn't seem to be much to work with. By the way, I am just trying to understand..I am not trying dis the Maxima obviously, because I have one myself (if you were wondering). What do you guys think?

Not really. It would have been nice to see some in your post. Would have made it an easier read.
