more power HELP

I have a 1987 camaro iroc-z with the 350 tpi engine. everything is stock but there was a new shift kit when i bought the car. any suggestions on boosting power big time without blowing out the engine, decreesing engine life or having too much power for the wheels and suspension to handle. I don't wanna put NOS in it either. if i have to i would consider a new suspension but i dont have too much money to spend. thanx a lot
(i wanna embarrass any pocket rocket japanese cars i race )

Re: more power HELP

Open the engine up. Invest in a nice set of Flowmasters(at least that's what I'd get)& a set of headers. Then work from there. Opening up an engine is a very important part of tuning.
