Leaking Front Differential Seals

The axle seals on my '99 Tahoe's front differential are leaking. I have taken it to my mechanic and he said that he could change them but they would not last since there was some sort of design flaw. He merely suggested that I check the fluid twice a year and just top it off.
I'm just getting tired of having to put a piece of cardboard under it to catch the drips all the time.
Is anyone else experiencing this same problem? Have you had success in fixing the problem?

I've replaced the drivers side 3 times so far in my 95, most recient I also changed the bearing. Originally the passengers side seal/bearing failed @ 10K.
It is a bad design. If you have the seals replaced, have the bearings changed too. This will tighten up the clearances, the seals are not made to flex that much. Maybe someone will change the seal so that is can float around th OP flange better.

Cheers
