The 1G-GTE, GZE, or GE, was a 2.0L I6, very rev happy engine perfect for a small lightweight car, why it was put into a supra we'll never know. It was produced from 86-90 and came i a variety of diff JDM, euro, and AUS cars. The GTE made 210@6200hp and 203@3800tq using twin CT-12's, I've seen as much as 450-500hp out of one, some guy in australia, i also hear he goes through blocks every now and then, not the strongest engines out there. I'm sure lots more could be made from it but i haven't seen a dyno slip for that. The 1JZ-GTE was a 2.5L I6, also a very rev happy engine with a godly strong bottem and top end just like it's big brother. Made 280@6200hp and 269@4800tq with twin ceramic CT-12A's (or was that B). I've heard in the 650hp range out of one but i'm sure some nut in japan has done more with a serious dyno queen. As for engine mods, good luck. Only a handfull of people in the states or canada know what the 1JZ is, and only a handfull of them know what the 1G is. All engine mods will have to be custom made or shippied from japan pretty much, although suprasport does sell some 1JZ mods
