how to make sohc go fast

OK, this is my problem. I got a 99 civic ex with a sohc vtec engine, and im tired of getting burnt by these neaderthols with their subarus and their new supercharged neons. I want to beat these sub-human slime so that i could be the new king of the hill. I need boost and lots of it. Can i make my sohc produce 250-275 horsies ?????

do you even know what you are talking about? first of all that new neon is turbo, not supercharged. second of all, try reading the performace faq first.

the only way you'll beat a subaru, and I'm guessing you're talking about the sti, is by getting an sti, and putting a civic body kit on, so it looks like a civic. There's no way in hell you can beat that car with a civic. It's a 4WD, 300 hp, and on good days it even beats corvettes, and I've only seen one civic beat a corvette so far, and it was a hatchback. But I'm sure some of the other guys can help you out to make the car go a lot faster, but I'm not the type who knows a lot about engines.

those turbo neons are nothing to sneeze at either... i saw one tearing around town yesterday and from the looks of it I didn't even have a chance in my car

BUT, if you really dump some money in your little sohc it MAY be possible...

Who said that it's a new neon? I've seen supercharged neons before...

Hop in your Miata and first curve on a road and I'm sure you might have one. They won't have the handling agility your car has, that's for sure!

nitrous.....upgrade fuel pump/injectors/fpr/fuel rail, 75 shot bisimoto d16 header exhuast and intake and with good driving that should propel you into 13's if you want to boost build the engine dont just buy a greddy kit and run 7 pounds it'll still be slow

shouldent cost more than 5,000 for everything, get someone to build your engine completely and put on a good turbo kit then you might need a shot of nitrous but you should be good on a properly built engine with a good turbo kit, goto your local speed shop and talk to them, not us

getting power like that out of your car pretty much comes down to do you want to, or not... if you wanted to try for that much out of your sohc I am sure it would be possible contrary to what everyone around here says. you would need a turbo though... no doubt now if you didn't want to try to get power like that out of your engine you could follow the lemmings and do a swap

do you even know what the c5 comes out of? do you know the specs on it? i know you'll probably go look em up and say them. but you just seem like you turned 16 and read an import tuner and your a racer now
