I just got H and R sport spings and kyb agx shocks for my 92 civic si. Install was super easy accept for a frozen bolt in both of my lower control arms. Once I got them on though I measured them to see how far the fender is off the ground and found out the Drivers side sits lower. In the front it sits about half an inch lower and in the back it is about a quarter of an inch lower. Now a quarter of an inch I can deal with but half an inch seems like there is somethin goin on down there. Just was wondering if anyone knew what was going on or if its supposed to and the springs will even out or something.
I was also wondering if and how much the springs will sag after a while? Now for the brakes. When Im backing up its sounds like the brakes stick or something and make a loud groan. Also when Im stopping the brakes make a clicking or chattering sound. Both these happen occasionally not all the time. Also I have had the brakes inspected and they said they look fine. There is an actual Honda tech bulletin out about this subject. 5th and 6th gen Civics naturally sit slightly lower or appear to be leaning towards the driver's side of the car as that's where more weight in the car is at. Hence a great reason why adjustable coilovers are good to have.

A friend of mine told me to heat up the spring and let the car sit overnight, and he said that would make the spring sag and possibly even out with the other side. I guess he did it on his car, but I was wondering if this is safe to do and if it would destroy my spring integrity or something?

I dont recommend heating springs
How did you measure? after it was set of the ground or with the e-brake on? The only way to get an accurate reading it to drive the car, coast to a stop(no brake - neutral) on a level surface, block tire & then measure(still in neutral). Make sure tire pressures are accurate. Drive the car for 3,000 miles or so to let the springs/shocks settle to your car. My Eibach Pro-kit & AGX's settled less than a 1/4" after 3,000 miles. Haven't measured it since. When was the last time your brakes were serviced? |

Just drive the thing for a week or so and it will sit fine. Mine looked high on one side but after everyting settled its fine. Go find some bumps and hit them hard....Just kidding let it settle.

I measured by driving the car around the block then back to my garage, and measuring it with it in gear but turned off.
I personally have never serviced the brakes, because I have on had the car for about year. But, I did take it in to a shop to have them checked out and stuff and they said they are fine and didn't know what was wrong. They took it for a drive and of couse that time the sounds didn't happen. |

Brakes should be inspected/cleaned/lubed/adjusted about every year or so. If you do not do this your brakes may make noise, wear quicker, & calipers may stick(not move freely).
