2wd lancer engine into a 2001 mirage?
greetings from the 240sx world. i have a question: i'm not sure of the designation for the engine in the new fwd lancer (i think its 4g93). either way, is it possible to sway this motor into a 2001 mirage currently using the 4g15? any sites that have swap info, or experiance? any help would be great. thanks in advance

hi, the 1997-2001 model mirages can be swapped with a 4g94 [2.0 SOHC US Spec LANCER] motor the 4g93 is the 1.8L Motor which was also available on the 1997-2001 Mirages you can determine a Mirage with a 1.8 motor if they have the beige interior not the grey which have the 97hp 1.5 motor.
if your car is equipped with a 4g15 1.5motor you will need a few extra things to fit in a 4g94 2.0 SOHC motor. good luck. please visit. www.mirageforums.net [mirage related forums] www.evolutionm.net [2002-2003 US Lancer/Lancer Evo related forums] and just like any newbie should do on that forum is to search...there has been 1 person on that board that has done the FWD Lancer SOHC 2.0 motor conversion and a galant 2.4 motor conversion and both swaps have been documented and many questions were answered in regards to the swaps. good luck! the swap isn't hard at all. |

Re: 2wd lancer engine into a 2001 mirage?
if you have a 1.5L mirage i would suggest going with the 1.8L swap (4G93). there isn't that much difference between the G94 and G93 and i think the swap is easier for the G93. another thing you could do is go turbo. the 1.5's respond really good to turbos. definately check www.mirageforums.net and search a lot on there before you post.
