91 Fc

how would a stock 91 non-turbo hold up against those new eclipses that only has an exhaust and intake? oh and I think the eclipse is auto(the ones with the ripple looking things on the sides and front)

just curious cuz some fag that lives near me always trys to race me in my 1.8 liter plymouth laser as if I'm dumb enough to try... sigh
but on the highway one day I came up on him going like 90, he was going maybe 80 or so and he took off so I did too and I top out at 105(115 if I can get a slight downhill and only about a quarter of a tank of gas) and we were side by side, so do the new eclipses really top out at about there? if so that sucks lol

yea so maybe none of you know about the eclipse top speed seeing as how this is an rx-7 board but ya know, worth a shot

Are you talking about the new GT model eclipse? Top end of my buddies GS-T is 140MPH he found ou the hard way racing my friends FD he has 350FWHP in his GST and my bud has 360RWHP in his FD. The FD was starting to walk him from 100 to 140 then the GS-t hit its speed limiter at 140. It made the FD look like it hit a 100 shot of NOS.

Oh to answer your question:

2002 Eclipse GT - 200HP 205Tq. 3100 lbs. 15.5 lbs per HP
1991 RX-7 - 160HP 140Tq. 2800 lbs. 17.5 lbs per HP

I would say stock to stock the Eclipse will win.

ok so yesterday I looked on auto consumer guide and found out there are 3 versions, RS, GS, GT. RS is base model, GS same everything but a few more options, GT turbo version with everything the other 2 have and more.

RS and GT have and inline 4 I believe and it has 147hp and 158torque
GT has V6 with 200hp and 205 torque
both weighing about 2855

so this tells us why your friends goes 140 and has 200 hp and the guy I know isn't much faster than my 1.8 liter plymouth laser, acceleration wise he kills me but my pathetic top speed of 105-110 matches his almost exactly

so I guess I answered my own question to some extent, I figure acelleration will be almost the same, as long as moth are 5spd, but the rx-7 top speed should blow it away by what I've heard, people tell me a 91 non-turbo can reach like 130-140! now for another question... is this true?

well not 100% stock, we're talking like intake, exhaust, header, downpipe, gutted cats

I still don't think 130-140 but what about like 120?
