91 integra engine help

I have a 1991 acura integra LS special edition. I need help with what to do with the engine. The engine has 175,000 miles on it. Would a swap or a rebuild of the old engine be better. If a swap is needed what type of engine to put in it. If i rebuild it what new parts would be needed.

ITs totally up to you what one you choose to do.. but if you want to swap i would go with a h22 as the replacement motor. Lots more power..swap is not that difficult but you will want to have a shop or mechanic help you with that. you can buy harness kist online for that swap.. you will love the outcome of that swap...

I would either rebuild the stock B18A with forged internals for boost or swap in a B18C1 GSR motor. The H22A would be nice but very pricey and you would end up with understeer b/c of the extra weight of the H22A. Keep it in the B series and you will be fine. Or you could bore the B18A out to a 2.0liter and get a set of crower cams and some 11.1 compression pistons and a small 50 shot of nitrous and you would be really quick.

i agree with the rebuild of your existing motor. you have a nice baseline for hp and tq already. all you have to do is up the c/r and add some nice cams and you have a pretty stout little car. as far as the h22, they are pricey and you can get a stroker kit from crower to make your motor a 2.26L for around $2300!

It all depends where you get the motor.. Rebuilt it fine but if you want a J-spec H-22 we can get them for around 1500$.. last time i looked i think the highest milage was around 25000 or so.. witch is nothing for a honda motor.. We also just got a new and very nice mount adj.. Its a adjustable mount for Civic's.. and only Civic's.. they dont even have them for my car yet..(Integra) they will soon though.. If you still want to go with rebuild i would make sure you do a nice port and polish on head, In Intake, Out Intake, and headers.. And what i would recomend to all is get rid of the plug in connector for your distributor.. wire them together.. That connection pod sucks!!! lol the plugs are acctually restrictor plugs.. Yes trust me they restrict flow. you can go to your local welding supply store and buy them.. We think that the reason that they put that on there was to slow the power to the coil and modulator so it wont spark as many times and as fast.. It sounds weird but we did it on a customers 93 Teg that ran 1/4 @16.6 before and ran a 15.8 after hard wireing ... weird.. There are sited that you can go to to find out other little mods like that, that when all done drops time by 1-2 seconds. check it out
