caviler engine to a saturn

The 1.9 DOHC engine in my 1995 satun is messing up, and I have a 1996 Caviler with a 2.2 in it. Would I be able to put the Caviler engine into the Saturn? Another reason why I ask is because the Caviler is a standard, while the Saturn is an automatic.

Thanks for your replies

uuhhhhhh

you can put whatever u want in your saturn if the engine fits and you have enough money but why would you go through all of that for a cavalier engine?

get a used engine or rebuild urs or sumfin.

Re: caviler engine to a saturn

it would be much easier to do a transmission swap for a manual saturn setup. You might be able to swap it for the 00-02's closer ratio 5-speed transmission. if u could do that, you would get much better output and, for at least under 100 or so, you could have that chevy engine beat. all u would have 2 do is add some additional ponies.

Y??? the tranny's aren't as well tuned... if he does the 00 sl swap, he can do a dual turbo setup w/ the usual high performance mods and say a 150shot of zex or nx and that would take most things on tha street as is!!!

Thumbs down

You can probably do it. Lots of changes though.

need your 2.2 engine with trans complete with all accessories, wiring harness, and computer. Also you will have to change the frt knuckles with something (the cavalier axles won't fit.-larger splines)

Best bet is to find another saturn eng.
